Thank you for all your e-mails and concerns over this coronavirus that is spreading throughout the UK. We fully appreciate and understand your decisions and hope that this will be over soon and we can get back to normal.
Thank you also for the very kind offers from a number of people to donate to keep Salli afloat during this very difficult time. We will keep you informed as to how this can be done.
Happy Hearts, however, will continue to run as long as we can.
We will try to keep as many classes as possible but these may have to be reduced according to numbers and venues.
We are also looking at ways we may be able to continue on the web. Anybody interested, DVD’s are available for sale.
Salli will also be available for individual or small group classes in your homes if required.
At present, while it is normal to feel anxious, if you are living with a heart or circulatory condition, your risk of catching coronavirus is no higher than anyone else. However, the risks of developing complications from the virus, if infected, are greater. It is therefore particularly important that you reduce your chance of catching the virus by following and acting on the advice provided by the NHS and the UK government.
• Follow the recommended hygiene instructions, especially washing your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds.
• Try to lead a healthy lifestyle – eating a diet including plenty of fruit and vegetables, taking regular exercise and getting 7 to 8 hours sleep will help your immune system to deal with any infection.
• If you do feel unwell, it’s still really important to carry on taking any medication you’ve been prescribed. Ask someone to collect your prescriptions from the pharmacy if necessary.
We will clean all equipment with anti-bacterial wipes before and after each session. Unfortunately we are unable to purchase hand sanitizer, but wipes will be available throughout. Feel free to wipe weights etc as you go round, wear gloves or just do the session without weights.
All venues will be checked for adequate ventilation before each session
If you have recently travelled to any area, both home and abroad that is affected by the coronavirus or if you have been in close contact with anybody that has, please take appropriate precautions, especially if showing any symptoms.
The virus spreads through droplets dispersed on coughing or sneezing. Please always have a tissue at hand and follow government guide lines on catching, binning and washing hands.
I have attached links to the BHF, NHS and Gov.uk website links for more information.
Please feel free to contact us any time if you have any concerns or questions regarding the classes.
We will endeavour to send regular updates as to the changing situation as it occurs.
Classes as normal so look forward to seeing you all soon.
Many thanks for your continued support
Take care and keep fit and well
Salli, Geoff & Nigel
