Hi All

A big thank you for all those that attended our Festive dinner last Wednesday evening at the Grasmere. It went very well and we hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did.

A sincere apology to all at Friday afternoons class at Shaftesbury. Unfortunately ‘Harry’ the van broke down on the way and Salli was unable to get there. A very big thank you to Malcolm, though, who covered the class for us.

Talking of Malcolm, he is still holding his Festive Skittles evening on Wednesday December 21st, with Fish and Chip Supper in Mere. Cost £7 per person. All interested please see Malcolm in class or contact him on ‘hurleyatmere2006@sky.com’ or 07961072424

Happy Hearts will be taking a break over Christmas and will finish at close of play next Friday 14 December and resume again on Monday 07 January 2019. Membership rates for next term will be published early in the New Year.

It is planned that the Happy Hearts lottery will be up and running in the New Year, hopefully starting 01 February 2019 when we should have all the legal bits in place. Once again more details will be published early in the New Year.

Many thanks for your continued support and please don’t keep Happy Hearts a secret. Bring along family and friends to exercise with you. They are more than welcome.

Hi All

As you may have seen in class, Happy Hearts is going to take another weeks break in August, from Monday 13th to Friday 17th August. So, last class will be at Shaftesbury on Friday 10th August, with the first class back being at St Elizabeth Hall on Monday 20th August, times as normal.

Please note that we will also be taking Bank Holiday Monday off on 27th August.

As we all enjoy the nice weather and holidays are upon us, we understand that a number of people will be missing from classes. To this end we would be most grateful if you would be kind enough to let us know if you will be away and can’t make it. Knowing numbers for each class makes it much easier for us to set up.

Many thanks for your continued support and please don’t keep Happy Hearts a secret. Bring along family and friends to exercise with you. They are more than welcome.

Hi All
Happy Hearts is going to take a break for two weeks at half term, starting Bank holiday Monday 28th May through to Monday 11th June, so that we can recharge the batteries ready for the summer months. So, last class this period will be at Shaftesbury on Friday 25th May, with the first class back being at St Elizabeth Hall on Monday 11 June, times as normal.
An update to the purchase of the Defibrillator; we are having a meeting with the SW St Johns Ambulance Rep on Thursday 24th May to decide on the best one to get for Happy Hearts. The order will go in shortly after, so the Defib should be with us soon after we get back from the half term break.
With regard to the new privacy laws about personal data, we think most members have now completed the forms and we thank you for that. If you have not been for a while but would still like to receive e-mails from us, please e-mail me back and I’ll continue to keep you on the list.
Many thanks for your continued support and please don’t keep Happy Hearts a secret. Bring along family and friends to exercise with you. They are more than welcome.

Remember: STRENGTHEN YOUR HEART, LENGTHEN YOUR LIFE.

Hi All

Graham Perryman is interested in starting a Happy Hearts band and has asked for the following to be circulated:

Are there any other Happy Hearters who have been in a band (the rock/pop variety, not the brass kind). I play keyboard. Do you play guitar/drums/bass guitar? Do you sing? How about getting together to see if we can create a Happy Heart band? I'd love to play some of those songs I try to exercise to, for the whole Happy Heart group at a large venue somewhere. And it might (will!) even be fun! Salli sounded enthusiastic when I put the idea to her. Anyone interested? Contact me on revgfp@btopenworld.com.

Remember: STRENGTHEN YOUR HEART, LENGTHEN YOUR LIFE.

Take care, keep fit and well, and we look forward to seeing you all soon.

Hi All
As you know we have raised a magnificent £1019 towards the Happy Hearts Defibrillator. Many thanks to Malcom for organising the skittle evenings and the raffle. Thanks to everyone who took part and for your donations.
As I’m sure you know defibrillators are very expensive, but thanks to a very special donation we can now, not only buy a defibrillator, but a training unit and all the required ancillary equipment. A very, very big thank you to John and Dee Roberts who has generously donated a massive £2000 towards it. It really is very much appreciated, and we can’t thank you enough.
We will be purchasing the defibrillator in the very near future and will keep you informed of progress.
Remember: STRENGTHEN YOUR HEART, LENGTHEN YOUR LIFE.
Take care, keep fit and well, and we look forward to seeing you all soon.

      Weather up dates

Hi All
We hope you are all keeping warm during this rather cold and snowy period.
Unfortunately, due to the adverse weather conditions, tonight’s class at St Elizabeth Hall, Salisbury has been cancelled.
Many thanks for your continued support. Please don’t keep Happy Hearts a secret and bring along family and friends to exercise with you. They are more than welcome.
Take care, keep fit and well, and we look forward to seeing you next week, when hopefully the weather will have improved a bit.

Hi All
It was nice to see you all back in January and hope you are still enjoying exercising with us.
Half term is nearly upon us so Happy Hearts will be taking a short break for the week Monday 12th to Friday 16th February. Start again Monday 19th February, which will take us through to Easter.
Since the start of the New Year Happy Hearts has been very busy, so we thought this would be a good time to bring you all up to date with what we are up to.
We are now working in partnership with the NHS Community Cardiac Team to exercise Heart Failure Patients. This takes place at Harnham village hall on a Tuesday afternoon. It is an exercise (mainly chair bound) and educational programme open to Heart Failure patients in Wiltshire only. It is a free six week course. If any of our members know of any persons that may benefit from this course please spread the word and contact Salli or Geoff for more info.
Happy Hearts is also starting another exercise class in Tisbury mid April. This will be in the same format as our normal classes. If any one is interested or know of anybody that may live and be interested in that area, once again we would be very grateful if you could let Salli, Geoff or Nigel know. Please spread the word.
Happy Hearts is also in the process of trying to raising some money to purchase a defibrillator. We feel that this would be a good item to have at all classes. We hope to be holding the odd event, raffle etc to help in this purchase. Your help will be much appreciated.
Finally, we hope to bring out a brochure about Happy Hearts in the not to distant future, that we can distribute to Medical Centres/Doctors surgeries etc. To this end we are looking for a ‘slogan’ to accompany Happy Hearts and our logo. If any body has any ideas, please let us know. If yours is chosen there could be a few free classes on offer.
Many thanks for all your help and continued support. Please don’t keep Happy Hearts a secret and bring along family and friends to exercise with you. They are more than welcome.
Take care, keep fit and well, and we look forward to seeing you all soon.
Salli, Geoff & Nigel
